Spurs' Streak Hits 17

The San Antonio Spurs completed an unbeaten month of March withtheir 17th consecutive victory Sunday, a 97-83 decision against thevisiting Phoenix Suns. The triumph enabled the Spurs to become onlythe second team in NBA history to go 16-0 in a month.

The Spurs, whose winning streak began Feb. 29, matched the 16-0record set by the Los Angeles Lakers in 1972. Nine other teams havehad undefeated months of 12 to 15 victories.

David Robinson scored 22 points and Sean Elliott added 17points, 10 rebounds and five assists for the Spurs.
